    Fabric Requirements:

The 24/7 Cami pattern lends itself to a wide array of fabrications. Stiffer materials will result in a boxier fit and fabrics with more drape will provide a slinkier appearance. The top front band is constructed with two layers of fabric for more stability and clean finishes. Light-to-mid weight woven fabrics will be the easiest to sew this quick project due to the double layer front band, French seams, and spaghetti straps. Think about cottons, linens, & silks for an elegant and comfortable camisole worn during your day or night!

    Fit Recommendation:

The 24/7 Cami is meant to be fitted at the upper chest and easeful around the waist and hips. The shaping for the bust comes from the horizontal seam across the chest. The seam is not intended to be directly across the apex, but sit comfortably above. Drafted with a straight hem, the 24/7 Cami tends to be slightly longer at the side seams depending on your size and fabrication. Intended to be paired with the They & Them Shorts, the camisole’s length is meant to fall at your high hips (about 3” [7.6cm] below the waist). Shorten or lengthen following the designated lines on your pattern pieces.

Find the size that corresponds closest to your personal measurements in the size chart below. Patterns are designed for a 5’8” (172cm) tall person. The following measurements are needed to determine your size:

HIGH BUST | The circumference above your chest, under arms, and below your shoulder blades

FULL BUST | The fullest part of your chest, often times across the apex

WAIST | The smallest part of your torso, directly underneath your rib cage and above your hip bones

LOW HIP | The widest part of your hips, patterns drafted for 8” below the waistline

    Care Instructions

Caring for your fabrics is essential to maintain their appearance and longevity. Here are some essential fabric care tips to make your clothing last longer and look great.

First and foremost, always check the care label on your garments. While most fabrics benefit from similar care, certain items like wool may have specific instructions. For general care, wash your fabrics in cool or cold water. Hot water can degrade fibers and cause colors to fade.

Avoid using chlorine bleach or fabric softeners, as these can damage the fabric over time. Instead, choose a phosphate-free detergent. These gentle detergents clean effectively without harming your textiles.

When it comes to drying your clothes, it's best to tumble dry on a low setting. This helps prevent shrinking and unnecessary wear and tear. For the best results, dry similar colors together to avoid color transfer. If you want to maximize the longevity of your fabrics, consider line-drying your clothes. This method reduces the risk of damage from the dryer’s heat and can also save energy.

Ironing your fabrics? Always check the appropriate heat settings based on the type of fabric you are working with. Utilizing the right heat can help you avoid burns and preserve the integrity of your garments.

If you have any delicate items, laundering them in a mesh bag can provide extra protection during the wash cycle. Always be mindful of embellishments and finishes when caring for your fabrics.

Ultimately, proper fabric care ensures that your clothes continue to look fresh and new. By following these easy tips, you can enjoy your favorite garments for years to come.
